Rotations
Except where noted otherwise, rotations on each level are of equitable length and take place at UC San Diego Health (which includes the Medical Center in Hillcrest and Jacobs Medical Center in La Jolla) or at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, and are a combination of inpatient and outpatient experiences. Most rotations include a Primary Care (continuity) Clinic.

Night Float & Call Schedule
Sunday through Thursday night floats rotation allows weekend only call on the rest of the rotations.
Night Floats (Sunday - Thursday)
- PGY 1 (OB)
- PGY 2 (GYN - consults, ED, floor, OR and help OB)
- PGY 4 (Responsible for leading PGY 1 & 2, running L&D)
Weekend Coverage
- Intern, Junior, Senior resident cover:
- Friday night
- Saturday 24
- Sunday day
Residents in obstetrics-gynecology are provided the opportunity to study in a variety of practice settings which include academic medicine and multi-specialty group practice. Varied patient care experience and academic training in these settings are beneficial in educating a well-rounded physician who is capable of choosing and performing well in a career in either of these environments.
