Asian Cultural Festival of San Diego

Saturday, May 18, 10AM to 5PM, Mira Mesa Community Park 
We will be featuring cultural, traditional, and contemporary acts. There will be plenty for everyone at this family-friendly, fun, and FREE event. The Asian Cultural Festival of San Diego is the LARGEST celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in San Diego and features two stages of cultural and traditional performances from a dozen countries and cultures, including Japan, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Korea, Myanmar, Indonesia, Hawaii, Cambodia, Thailand, Taiwan, Polynesia, and more!

Black Maternal Health Week donation drive is from Thursday April 11th - April 17th. Please bring items to the bin in the Black Resource Center. All items will be donated to the UC San Diego Health Obstetric Refugee/Asylum Seeker Care Navigator Program to help support equity in obstetric care.

2023 BLACK MATERNAL HEALTH WEEK

In celebration of Black Maternal Health Week April 11-17th, UCSD SOM CJQ, SNMA, and LMSA hosted a screening of acclaimed film Aftershock followed by an expert panel discussion moderated by Dr. Audra Meadows, Vice Chair, on the U.S. Maternal Health Crisis. Panelists included Dr. Cynthia Gyamfi-Bannerman, Department Chair, Nikki Helms, Licensed Midwife and Founder of the San Diego Community Birth Center, Dr. Shani Cooper, Doula and Founder of Root & Soul: Integrative Health, Dr. Toluwalasé (Lasé) A. Ajayi, Pediatrician and Principal Investigator of PowerMom, Jessica Wade, Maternal & Infant Health Initiatives from March of Dimes, San Diego County, and Dr. Akilah Weber, Assembly Member, District 79.
