    Dr. Laurent is the Vice Chair for Translational Research and Director of Perinatal Research for the UCSD Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Reproductive Sciences. She is also the co-Director of the Center for Perinatal Discovery. Her research applies her expertise in human pluripotent stem cell research and genomics to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying normal and abnoral human development, to improve the health of mothers and babies.

    Dr. Cook-Andersen is a member of both the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and in the Department of Molecular Biology in the School of Biological Scienes. Her research addresses the molecular mechanisms underlying the transition from a fully differentiated oocyte to a totipotent embryo successful implantation of the blastocyst in mammals using both embryo and stem cell based models.

    Dr. Alperin is a Fellowship Research Director of the UCSD Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Her research includes basic, translational, and clinical studies of the impact of pregnancy, birth injury and aging on the female pelvic soft tissues, as well as pragmatic regenerative approaches to prevent and mitigate pelvic floor and lower urinary tract dysfunction.

    Dr. Burnett completed her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Arizona State University, postdoctoral fellowship in Physiology and Biophysics at University of Washington, MD at University of Illinois and completed both her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship training in Female Pelvic Medicine at UCSD/Kaiser. Her research applies her expertise in cellular and molecular biology to the understanding of how metabolism impacts pelvic floor disorders including pelvic organ prolapse, recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary and fecal incontinence. She is also the director of the Pelvic Health After Birth Program focused on understanding pelvic health in pregnancy and after delivery.
